lights, camera…lights? | Billings, MT photographer

I normally shoot with that big ball of light in the sky as my light source.  I search out glorious natural light when I am on a shoot and I am deathly afraid of off camera lighting.  I even bought a book on lighting to get over my fear of the unknown, but I haven’t even looked at it.  I think I bought it over 6 month ago.  When the opportunity came up to shoot with some local photographers and play with lights and off camera flash I couldn’t help but be a little nervous.  But, there is no better time than the present, right?  So, I joined them, and I am so glad that I did.  Gorgeous models, a cool loft space and meeting new people who share my passion for the camera.  I learned that I have A LOT to learn, but it was fun to play.  I am feeling a little more confident about using lights, I guess it is time to clear the dust off my lighting book and play some more.

Here a few of the shots.

Thanks to Tracy Moore and Bottega,  for putting this together!  It was a lot of fun.
